HR Trends 2018

Trends emerge due to various issues in HR and the processes involved in solving them. Keeping up with these trends is what many companies/entrepreneurs do so as to stay in business.

As the year comes to a close, here are a few trends to expect in the dynamic world of human resources:

AI

The evolution of technology over the last two decades has brought about significant changes across all industries. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping human resource functions, from learning and development to employee engagement. Some of the benefits of using AI in HR are:

  • Reduced bias

  • Quick and accurate information

  • Increased efficiency in HR functions

Employee experience and engagement

Simply put, employee experience refers to the various perceptions employees have about their work place. This involves their interpretations of the company’s culture, technology and interactions. With the influx of millennials entering the workforce, HR departments have to look at the workspace from their employees’ perspective, and from that angle design, create and maintain a suitable environment. The main goal of this employee-centric approach is to have a productive and positive team using various approaches such as design thinking and employee journey maps.

Predictive Workforce Analytics

This is also known as HR analytics and it is a tool that is used to provide unprecedented insights into people-related trends. It provides data to help understand people better. HR analytics play a crucial role through predictive data that aids in reevaluating strategies.
